Arheologia is a research journal of the Institute of Archaeology, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, discussing problems of archaeology. The journal presents articles on ancient history and archaeology from prehistory till the Early Modern period, publications of new materials and research results regarding the sites located on the territory of Ukraine and beyond, biographic materials, reviews and chronicles. The journal’s audience are historians, local lore researchers, teachers, students of historical departments, general public interested in the ancient history of Ukraine.

The journal publishes articles for free. It does not place advertisement and is fully supported by the state.

The policies of the editorial board of Arheologia are based on the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

Arheologia publishes original articles of individual authors or teams of authors. The editorial board strictly adheres to the anti-plagiarism policy and publishes only those articles that have been checked.

All published material is subject to a double-blind review.

In its work, the editorial board of the journal Arheologia is guided by the international ethical rules of scientific publications and adheres to the open access policy.

The journal is indexed by Google Scholar

Certain changes occurred last year. Arheologia is now indexed by two lead international academic research databases: Scopus and Web of Science. Articles, published in the journal after iss. no. 1 2020 inclusive and are indexed in Web of Science and after iss. no. 1 2022 — in Scopus.

Since 2016 the research publications of Arheologia are provided with digital object identifiers (DOI) by CrossRef.

Please keep in mind, that DOI and indices in academic research databases are assigned to those articles, which were reviewed, have vast resume, references and follow other guidances for writing and submission of the articles. Short messages, e.g. publications in History of Science or Book Review sections, are not indexed and not recorded in above-mentioned databases. Arheologia is referred in the refereed journal Dzherelo; an electronic copy of the journal is kept at the
V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. 

The Journal Arheologia is in the Category A of the List of Scientific Academic Periodicals of Ukraine by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (№768 of 20.06.2023).
